Falling Behind?

Well, since my last post, obviously there have been more expansion packs that have come out since Nightlife. Heh. I will briefly mention them here. For my own piece of mind, I will list everything that has come out so far (including the Stuff Packs).

1.) Sims 2 Original (CD or DVD)
2.) Sims 2 University (EP1)
3.) Sims 2 Nightlife (Ep2)
4.) Sims 2 Holiday (this was the first holiday addition, but I don't think they're calling it a Stuff Pack)
5.) Sims 2 Open for Business (EP3)
6.) Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff (SP1)
7.) Sims 2 Glamour Life stuff (SP2)
8.) Sims 2 Pets (EP4)
9.) Sims 2 Seasons (EP5)
10.) Sims 2 Celebration Stuff (SP3)
11.) Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff (SP4)

And the newest EP ... which will be EP6 (to be released in early September 2007) is Bon Voyage. It's supposed to be like Sims Vacation (TS1) ... not that I was that impressed with Sims Vacation (it was boring), but this IS the Sims 2. So ... maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. They mentioned a while ago that they'd planned 7 EPs for TS2. What will come after Bon Voyage? And more than that ... does that mean a Sims 3 is in the works? There have been rumors! But who knows. How can they even think to top TS2??

I'd also like to make a note that most of the blogs I have here are inactive. I've moved several over to my freewebs account and will keep them there. I haven't decided yet what I want to do with my blogger account ... but I'm sure something will come to mind. :OD))

Living the Nightlife

The official Sims 2 Website announced on June 16th that they would be having one of their chats about the Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion pack with the usual suspects: Tim LeTourneau, Hunter Howe and Lyndsay McGaw. They were there to answer any and mostly all questions about the newest expansion pack that according to Amazon.com and Ebgames.com will be released on September 13th to you United States and September 15th to the UK. The United States date is NOT confirmed.

You can find the chat transcript here.

And here are some IMPORTANT points that I thought stood out amongst them all:

VAMPIRES ...

Question: Will Vampires be playable and will they have unique qualities that normal sims don’t have?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:09:52 PM): Allow me to tell you of the exciting vampires. Yes, they're totally playable, like aliens or zombies from University. You can bite other Sims and turn them into vamps. Also, you have no motive decay at night! Yes! Although, you do burn in the daytime out in the sun. That's no fun at all.

Question: What's the deal with Vampires? Do we get to marry them or what not?
MaxisHunter! (Jun 16, 2005 6:10:34 PM): They're totally Sims. Marryable and everything.

Question: Can vampires procreate?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:11:32 PM): Yep. They would be very bad vampires if they didn't.

Question: What is the BEST thing in Nightlife that you guys HAVENT told us yet?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:13:50 PM): Flying around in bat form. Yeah, Vampires can be bats. It's pretty much the best thing ever. You can even fly over tables and stuff.
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:14:25 PM): I'll also note to those of you concerned about vampires invading your game: it's our goal to make vampires totally avoidable if you dont want to play with them.

Question: About vampires ... when you say they burn out in the sun do you mean die or just rapid motive decay?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:18:46 PM): Their motives tank like crazy, and then they die if you dont get them out quick enough. The best place to send them is to your plush coffin bed.

Question: Can you breed vamps?
MaxisTim (Jun 16, 2005 6:29:05 PM): Yes, but Vampirism is not genetic. It's viral.

CARS ...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Question: Are there really going to be cars in the game that you can use?
MaxisTim (Jun 16, 2005 6:07:28 PM): Yep, yep, yep

Question: I'm so excited that there are finally going to be cars in the game! I was wondering if the family owns a car, can adults/teens/elders in the same house carpool together if they go to work at the same time?
MaxisTim
(Jun 16, 2005 6:12:19 PM): Everyone can use the car at the same time if they all have jobs at the same time. But they can also have multiple cars and you can pick who owns each.

Question: Will there be any more locations in which to "Woohoo" such as cars?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:13:02 PM): What kind of cars would they be if you couldn't WooHoo in them? Who knows what happens in there, with those fogged up windows. Also, things can get pretty steamy in the photo booth.....

Question: Will you have to buy gas for your Sims' cars, or will they always be filled?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:15:36 PM): They run on intern fusion reactors. They run on an endless supply of water. Thusly, they require little to no maintenance. They are also environmentally sound and will not pollute your neighborhood.

Question: Will we have garage doors for the garages we build?
MaxisTim
(Jun 16, 2005 6:17:06 PM): Yeah, I personally think they are the coolest thing about the addition of cars, because you can now build garages as part of the house.

Question: What are the five cars types?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:18:04 PM): Hatchback, Sedan, Pickup, Minivan, Sportscar.

Question: If you have two sims with different jobs, but only one car.. Will the carpool arrive for one sim, or would you have to own two cars??
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:23:07 PM): You need two cars for two different jobs. But if you only have 1 car, the carpool does show up.

Question: Will parents be able to drop their kids off to school?
MaxisTim
(Jun 16, 2005 6:26:19 PM): Yep, how cool is that. No more worries about missing the bus.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Question: Since you will be able to see the surrounding houses, will this slow down the game at all? Is there an option to turn it off?
MaxisLittleL
(Jun 16, 2005 6:16:33 PM): You'll actually be able to turn them on or off; or turn off how many of them you see, it's completely adjustable.

Question: What about pools, is it true you can make different shapes with them now?
MaxisLittleL
(Jun 16, 2005 6:24:40 PM): You won't be limited to the plain rectangle anymore, we're letting the tool build diagonals; sort of like the foundation tool.

Question: How many new objects will be available in Nightlife? Is it more than University?
MaxisHunter!
(Jun 16, 2005 6:35:25 PM): Over 130, I believe.

So keep your eyes pealed for more on the Nightlife!

The Sims 2 Nightlife is COMING SOON!

Greetings, everyone!

I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. I'm trying to keep this index page updated so you all (those of you who actually visit my blog) can keep up-to-date on the latest Sims 2 news with me.

The latest?

The Sims 2 Nightlife! This is the second expansion pack for the Sims 2 franchise.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
From IGN.com

"The Sims 2 Nightlife takes Sims into the night to explore all of their favorite after-dark activities. Players can either head out and discover their love lives or have a crazy night out with friends. With the new dating gameplay, players will see if their Sims have chemistry with others which will determine their romantic fate. The newest addition to the game includes the brand new pleasure seeker aspiration allowing players to explore a life filled with unforgettable dates, endless nights of dancing and fine dining. Make your Sims nightlife fantasy a reality with over 125 new objects including a DJ booth, poker table and all you need to design the ultimate nightclub and VIP lounge." ~ sims2.com

And they have a nifty sounding contest in the works, too. If you like to create clothing for your sims, you just might get a chance to have it feature in the actual game!

"Get fierce and unleash your inner fashion designer with Maxis' The Sims™ 2 Nightlife Style Contest for a chance to win an autographed copy of The Sims™ 2 Nightlife Expansion Pack and the possible chance to have your clothing design included in the upcoming game. The Sims 2 Nightlife takes you behind the velvet rope to all the hot-spots about town, where it's all about seeing and being seen - especially being seen! Make sure your Sims' fashion sense sets them apart from the pack - whether their look is understated elegance fit for swank lounges and supper clubs, or outrageously outré attire more appropriate for club-kids, ravers, and rockers, we want to see something completely unique and ultra-chic. When it comes to this contest, it's literally about dressing to impress!" ~ sims2.com

I think it sounds great ... although, I must admit that I was expecting VAMPIRES in this game. The back of the Sims 2 University jewel box seemed to indicate this. However, the lastest concept forthe game box doesn't seem to show this.

Happy April 1st!! (April Fool's Day)

Greetings one and all! I'm sorry that I haven't updated this starting page to my blog, but work and life get in the way of my Sim Addiction all the time. *sad sigh* But enough about that.

Guess what?!

Maxis has given us an April Fool's gift in the form of a new download! It is the Runs with Scissors Playset: Thrill-seekers and pranksters alike will find the activity of running paired with giant scissors reduces the tedium of exercise by maximizing danger and increasing excitement. The Runs With Scissors Playset is not recommended for children. You can get the download here.

Also ... you be pleased to discover that they have FINALLY published part 5 of The Strangerhood. This is that wonderfully comedic online series developed by Rooster Teeth Production, the creators of the popular redvsblue online movie series.

For those of you who may not know about this interesting series, "...the story centers around a group of eclectic characters all suffering from amnesia. For reasons unknown to them, they have been gathered together in a mysteriously remote suburban neighborhood, with seemingly no way in or out.

Throughout the season, the characters will attempt to figure out who they are, why they have been brought together, and just exactly who is behind this bizarre experiment."

And since I totally missed out on EASTER (*rolls eyes at self*), here is a nifty little toy for all the kiddies that MaxoidMonkey was kind enough to create for all of us. I think you'll enjoy it!

In Other News ...

The Sims 2 University Expansion was released on March 1st, 2005 to many of us in the United States. I received my copy on March 2nd and have been playing it at every available opportunity (which isn't very many ... being an adult is NOT cool). IGN.com was kind enough to publish the Sims 2 University Prima Guide on their website. Check it out. For those of you who wish to buy your own, it also includes the original prima guide for The Sims 2. Believe me ... the book is the HOLY GRAIL! You won't regret owning it.

I've been playing with various Sims 2 families in my various Sims 2 neighborhoods, including a new neighborhood that I've ironically called "Universe City" ... since it features my new University Challenge family - Leggasea. Keep your eyes pealed for a new and updated blogs soon, especially for that of "The Adventures of Average Joe Schmoe"! Coming to a blog near you!
Also, please, please, PLEASE, be sure to visit my MySim page. I've updated some of my other stories there, and I've been getting some great reviews! I'm so honored.

More to come!

The Beginning

Greetings one and all to my Blog. Even though I've been registered for a couple of weeks, this entry if my first (of many) entries into my blog. This particular address is just an introductory page (of sorts) that's just going to have some basic information about The Sims 2 (TS2) and any future expansion packs (like University).

To start ... for those of you who have access to the official website of The Sims 2, click here for a peek at my "My Sims" page.

Variations of Me

While you are navigating around my various blogs, you will (no doubt) come into contact with various aspects of my sim creations. For example, the images you see below represent the various forms of "myself" ... hehe.

These two don't have any close-ups ... so I hope you can see them okay. This one is ... I think ... the first "me" I created in TS2.

This one is of "me" as an adult and "me" as a teen. Hehe. They live in a neighborhood that I call Smalleville (yes, with an "e"). I'm hoping to do my own little "pre-SuperMan" thing. I haven't played with that one in a while.

These next ones (thankfully) have the "blue screen" and a single shot (close-up). I'm actually quite proud of these. This creation is the "me" in my Dynasty Story.

And "me" before a visit from the Shrink. *LOL* She was sent into aspiration failure when her son failed to make it into private school (darn Headmaster didn't even want to come in). *grumble*

This particular creation was created for the story I started where she is half human and has been sent to SimEarth to experience all of the facets of a sims life (mainly romance and family life). Hehe.

A lovely close-up of her face. Isn't she beautiful?

This next set of pictures is of a household I started that I'm kind of embarrassed to describe. Suffice it to say, the me in these pictures is going to be living out her ultimate fantasy with some very special men (two of three appear in the second picture). ;o) Since she's actually living with the three guys, there's no "blue screen" image of her alone. Therefore, I'm using this picture I took in CAS.

And here she is with two of the three guys she's living with (you can see part of the third guy's head to the right). She loves all three of them (if you can believe it), and she wants to have a child fathered by each (without them realizing that they aren't the father of all of her children). They (hopefully) will remain blissfully oblivious. ;o) Hehe. Does that sound devious?

And finally ... this creation was made just as a "hostess" sim for a vacant lot that I will use to make the subsequent parts to various stories in this neighborhood. My goal is to upload the various parts without accidentally deleting the previous part. I hope it works.

This "me" is also planning to act as a narrator for some of the stories I have in mind. I've taken various pictures of her in various poses (that you won't see here).

And that's it! I'm sure there will be some more creations that are "me" (for all intents and purposes), but for an introduction to my blog, I think this is MORE than enough images. *LOL*

More to come in future posts!
